Chrome and Chaos was yet another matchup that went down to the wire with this OT thriller surprising the Atlanta fans. Chaos came out in the first quarter red hot and scored four straight goals. The onslaught continued throughout the quarter as they built up a formidable 7-1 lead by performances from Jake Froccaro and Miles Thompson. The early signs looked like this game was going to get out of hand fast, but the Chrome weren’t ready to give up just yet.

The first quarter of Sunday’s matchup was all Chaos. The Archers sharpshooters didn’t seem to have woken up yet as the Chaos’ electric start saw them go up 6-3 at the start of the second quarter. Most of the Chaos’ incredible first quarter was down to the stifling defense they played on the Archers’ attack.
A thunderstorm in the greater D.C. area saw the start of Saturday night’s Whipsnakes and Atlas matchup get pushed back by almost an hour. However, once the weather cleared up both teams were raring to go.
As I prepared for the inaugural PLL season in my new home of Chicago, ~90 miles away from Notre Dame where I’ve spent my previous four pre-seasons, I felt far more like I was worlds away rather than a short trip down I-90.
