The Premier Lacrosse League and Iroquois Nationals Lacrosse recently announced a partnership to raise global awareness of the roots of the game and the development of the Iroquois Nationals brand, as well as opportunities for Native youth lacrosse and education initiatives. Our partnership focuses on four key areas: 1) Youth Mentoring – PLL players will act as mentors to Native youth, fostering connections and building educational support through lacrosse; 2) Cultural Awareness Training – INL will provide PLL players with a comprehensive and culturally appropriate curriculum, with training about Haudenosaunee governance, identity, and the history of lacrosse; 3) Events – We will collaborate on events to help grow the game. Through cultural summits and other knowledge sharing events, for coaches, players, and fans; and 4) Collaborations – We will collaborate on apparel and merchandise as well as limited edition items that can be designed to raise awareness and funds in support of issues relating to Indigenous people.
