The Lacrosse Network (TLN) is the premier destination for lacrosse media. Built for a social-native audience, TLN was built on new media platforms, with a specific focus on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter. The Lacrosse Network seeks to tell great stories in lacrosse and achieves that goal with a mixture of engaging and relevant social content as well as highly-produced feature content. TLN was recently rebooted and is fully owned by the Premier Lacrosse League. TLN’s operation is fully housed under the Premier Lacrosse League umbrella and operates out of PLL HQ in Los Angeles, CA.

Position Overview:
The PLL is seeking a candidate to fill one of the most exciting roles in lacrosse – to lead and execute on the long-term vision of The Lacrosse Network. The future General Manager of The Lacrosse Network will be given the opportunity to combine lacrosse’s most premium media brand with the resources of the Premier Lacrosse League to achieve outcomes never seen before in the sport. The PLL is seeking a candidate that is ambitious, understands the lacrosse community, has a firm grasp on new media, and can articulate a vision around how to deliver meaningful growth to TLN, as well as the greater ecosystem of lacrosse, through the power of media.

  • 4+ years in media or tangential space
  • Understanding of the lacrosse community and broader media landscape in the sport
  • Deeply curious and entrepreneurial at heart; must be ready and capable to build something big
  • Experience and understanding of social media and social content
  • Firm understanding of great storytelling and how to captivate a lacrosse audience
  • Passion for the sport of lacrosse and towards the broader mission of growing the game
  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities and can build towards managing a team or business unit
  • Knowledge of the Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok ecosystem, including creators and influencers
  • Demonstrates sales capabilities – and can quickly ramp to understand and pitch branded content
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal and team-based skills
  • A hard worker who is a “doer” first; must be ready to roll sleeves up
  • Highly-motivated and eager to make an impact on the organization
  • Strong writing and copywriting skills are a plus
  • Existing or budding creative skill-set a plus
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Set vision and high-level goals for TLN
  • Be an all-around contributor for the organization: operate, create, manage, and sell
  • Build content strategy and participate in and/or drive content creation
  • Press publish on social media accounts and manage “in-the-weeds” content needs
  • Stay in-tune with lacrosse social media and broader social media trends; live in the conversation
  • Support sales process and help pitch TLN to potential sponsors
  • Set and achieve revenue targets for branded and sponsored content
  • Be aware and active in the lacrosse community
  • Attend events and interface with the lacrosse community
  • Manage creators and talent across the TLN network

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) brought the sport of lacrosse to a national stage for the first time through a tour-based model, composed of 7 teams rostered with the best players the game has to offer.  Recently awarded SBJ’s Breakthrough Sport of the Year in 2020. The league was Co-founded by lacrosse superstar, philanthropist, and investor Paul Rabil and his brother, serial entrepreneur and investor, Mike Rabil, the Premier Lacrosse League is backed by an investment group comprised of The Raine Group, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), The Chernin Group, and Blum Capital. The league was announced in October 2018, with an exclusive media-rights deal with NBC Sports Group. The PLL’s second season will begin in May 2020, with seven teams, embarking on a 14-week season that concludes with a playoff and PLL championship game.
