The Premier Lacrosse League is seeking a Data scientist to join our team to make a significant impact in our business working on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, mathematics, and computer science, as well as experience working with large data sets and stakeholders. This role will be expected to develop statistical models/analysis and apply them to solve real-time problems. As part of a team of specialists, the data scientist will “slice and dice” data using various methods and create new visions for the future.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide valuable insights into the business
- Work closely with other team members to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making
- Build custom workflows using ELT(etract-load-transform) and ETL (etract-transform-load) methods
- Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders using data visualization tools and storytelling techniques
- Create dashboards and manage dataflows to ensure up-to-date tracking across PLL business units
- Work closely with the paid and CRM marketing teams and be responsible for campaign pre and post-analysis, cohorting, experiment design, segmentation, and key results measurement
- Work closely with the PLL’s marketing and product teams to develop workflows and automations across Martech and data stack
- Utilize 3rd party data to enrich customer data in our Data Warehouse
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and technology
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience working as a data scientist or a related field.
- Advanced SQL expertise
- At least 3 years of experience in programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with data warehouses like BigQuery or Redshift
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience developing & implementing Machine Learning models to identify trends and patterns in data
- Experience utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) in data workflows
- Based on the candidate’s experience, seniority, and location
- $90,000 to $120,000 base salary
