Position Overview:
The PLL is seeking a marketing professional to support the League’s grassroots marketing efforts. This role will lead the Shield Team, the PLL’s local growth arm focused on in-real-life marketing at the youth level. Efforts will include hiring, training, and managing a team of 32 part-time Shield Team members located in the PLL’s 8 home-team markets, managing youth lacrosse relationships across the country, and leading the rollout of various marketing initiatives at a youth and local level. The Grassroots Marketing Associate, Shield Team will be tasked with converting every youth lacrosse player and family into a PLL fan. Further, this role will have a deep understanding of the social and lacrosse scene in each of PLL’s 8 home-team markets in order to effectively execute Shield Team activations, both at lacrosse tournaments and community events. This position will require travel to identified cities before and during game weekends in the summer, as well as during the offseason. The ideal candidate is a team player and has a background in operational marketing. Finally, the ideal candidate will be a shield bearer for the League, exuding passion for the League’s mission in interactions with new and existing fans.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s of Arts or Science required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an operational marketing role
  • Ability to manage operational efforts across multiple markets simultaneously; highly-organized
  • Initiative taker – ability to identify, source, and measure marketing opportunities
  • Flexibility in schedule to travel as needed throughout the year
  • Excitement and capacity to travel for 3-5 weekends throughout the summer and additional weekends throughout the year (mix of summer and offseason may change); excitement to be “on the road” often
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Deep familiarity with the league and a passion to grow the PLL and the sport of lacrosse
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be the face of the league to its top fans
  • Possesses a builder’s mindset and the ability to set and iterate on vision as outputs come to life
  • Ability to convert high-level objectives into trackable KPIs
Preferred: 
  • Experience managing a team – demonstrates strong leadership capabilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support grassroots marketing efforts for the Premier Lacrosse League
  • Build and manage the PLL Shield Team, the league’s growth arm
  • Oversee execution of activations within the 8 home-team markets
  • Manage activations in a variety of settings, including lacrosse tournaments and public community events
  • Manage promotional inventory budget, shipping, logistics, and deployment within a given budget
  • Collect data, summarize, and validate marketing efforts to understand the impact and ROI on marketing spend and activations
  • Source tournament partnerships and youth activation opportunities
  • Support the development of localized strategies within discrete markets
Compensation
  • $60,000 to $70,000 annually
  • Based on the candidate’s experience, seniority, and location
  • The total compensation package includes Annual Bonus, Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) plan, Equity Sharing, Mental Health Stipend, Unlimited PTO, and Paid Parental Leave
