Position Overview:
The PLL is seeking a marketing professional to lead the League’s grassroots marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will own much of the PLL’s localized efforts within identified cities and manage the roll out of various marketing initiatives such as ambassador programs, bar affiliate networks, boots-on-the-ground activations and more. This role will require travel to identified cities before and during game weekends in the summer, as well as during the offseason. The ideal candidate will be a shield bearer for the League, exuding passion for the League’s mission in interactions with new and existing fans.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s of Arts or Science required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an operational marketing role
  • Experience managing a team – demonstrates strong leadership capabilities
  • Initiative taker – ability to identify, source, and measure marketing opportunities
  • Ability to manage local relationships and partnerships
  • Ability to effectively manage large groups of contractors and interns
  • Flexibility in schedule to travel as needed throughout the year
  • Energy and capacity to travel for 3-5 weekends throughout the summer and additional weekends throughout the year (mix of summer and offseason may change); energy to be “on the road” often
  • Excellent organizational skills

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead grassroots marketing efforts for the Premier Lacrosse League
  • Oversee execution of activations within local markets
  • Manage activations in a variety of settings, including public areas, lacrosse tournaments, and bars/restaurants
  • Develop, onboard, and manage PLL Ambassador program to drive awareness and fandom
  • Create and manage a PLL Bar Network program to support game weekend activations, as well as support season-long tune-in & brand efforts
  • Manage promotional inventory budget, shipping, logistics and deployment
  • Collect data, summarize, and validate marketing efforts to understand impact and ROI on marketing spend and activations
  • Manage the PLL’s Shield Team, focused on strategic partnerships and local activations
  • Source tournament partnerships and youth activation opportunities
  • Support development of localized strategies within discrete markets
