Position and Responsibilities Overview:
The PLL is looking for a qualified 2L or 3L law student to support the league’s key initiatives. The legal intern will be exposed to a variety of legal issues impacting a professional sports league and the business of sports media. The selected candidate will work closely with, and report to, the General Counsel of the PLL, and will be trained in and assist with the day-to-day legal and business affairs of a new professional sports league.  
  • Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda on real-world, sport and entertainment-related topics, including (but not limited to): intellectual property rights, labor and employment, social media, and marketing and sponsorship
  • Assisting with drafting and negotiating contracts
  • Clearing day-to-day legal hurdles for the business units
  • Joining team meetings and working cross-functionally across the organization
  • Second or third-year law student
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Self-starter and ability to operate independently
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize under time constraints
  • Ability to operate in an early-stage, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
