Location: Los Angeles (Preferred)

Position Overview:
The People Operations Associate for the Premier Lacrosse League will report to the Director of People Operations and will assist in the execution of key initiatives and responsibilities across the Human Resources department. In this role, the candidate will work directly with Senior Management on a range of employee programs assisting with onboarding/offboarding, payroll, workers compensation, culture initiatives, benefits, recruiting and performance evaluations for the Premier Lacrosse League’s front office and PLL athletes.
  • Assists with PLL’s payroll processing for front office and players through ADP Workforce Now, and ADP Canada, maintaining federal, state and local tax compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, i.e., anti-harassment training and management training
  • Manages and assists in the execution of the employee lifecycle events, from recruiting efforts/onboarding to terminations and dismissals. 
  • Works closely with PLL brokers to ensure employee health benefits and worker’s compensation and other insurance policies are properly administered and maintained.
  • Handle and manage worker’s compensation claims during PLL seasons.
  • Update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain documentation and resources as necessary.
  • Assist in the execution of employee initiatives including goal setting, performance evaluation and career growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with the front office and athletes to ensure company policies are properly outlined and communicated.
  • Maintains organization and proper maintenance of employee records within our HR systems. 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent degree is required.
  • aPHR certification or HR Certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Experience in the sports industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and executive presentation skills including the ability to work directly with Senior Management and address sensitive and confidential matters.
  • A custodian of PLL values who can lead by example and help highlight and develop principles throughout the company.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Enjoys an interactive and fast-paced environment.
