Monthly Call To Action

Every month, we at PLL Assists will highlight one of our many partners and encourage you to take action in order to support their mission and their important work.

This month, we invite you to learn more about and support Team Red White and Blue. Every year, more than 250,000 active duty service members transition out of the military, joining the 3.5 million post-9/11 veterans already living in communities nationwide. Team RWB is the antidote to the isolation and health challenges they may face. Its mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

Each Veterans Day, hundreds of veterans, veteran supporters, gyms, and boxes across the nation participate in #WOD4Warriors, a functional fitness workout, to support Team RWB and those who have served our country. All proceeds support Team RWB’s mission to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by coming together in support of our veterans’ physical and mental health.

They recruited players, teams, and coaches to help their student-athletes reach their fundraising goals. Lacrosse the Nations continues to raise the funds needed to provide PPE, sanitizing materials and tech hardware/software for all students, coaches and staff to participate in full lacrosse and educational programming in 2021. Lacrosse the Nations is also currently recruiting for their team trips to Nicaragua, Panama, and Colombia!

WINNERS Lacrosse

This fall, WINNERS rolled out several new programs. Through the WINNERS College Leadership Program, local college lacrosse student-athletes are paired with participants from the Fourth Force Program participants to establish a year-long mentoring and tutoring program, featuring student-athletes and coaches from Georgetown University, University of Maryland, University of the District of Columbia, and Catholic University. The Virtual Learning Academy works to develop 3rd to 7th-graders through coaching, leadership, and IQ development. Participants are exposed to lacrosse through at-home drills, videos, lacrosse quizzes, and fun games! The WINNERS Virtual Leadership Series introduces program participants to professional leaders and allows them to share their pathway to leadership. Participants have monthly sessions with the featured leader as they share their stories and pathways to achievement.

OWLS Lacrosse

This fall has been busy for OWLS Lacrosse. They recently launched the OWLS Academy Enrichment Program with PLL Players Nick Ossello and Brent Adams. In order to keep their high schoolers engaged from a holistic perspective, they have organized monthly virtual sessions with mentors and PLL players Nick Ossello and Brent Adams to help facilitate nurturing dialogue, life-enrichment programming and keep up to date with the goal-oriented progress of OWLS Academy Scholars.
