Monthly Call To Action

Every month, we at PLL Assists will highlight one of our many partners and encourage you to take action in order to support their mission and their important work.

This month, we invite you to learn more about and support Team Red White and Blue. Every year, more than 250,000 active duty service members transition out of the military, joining the 3.5 million post-9/11 veterans already living in communities nationwide. Team RWB is the antidote to the isolation and health challenges they may face. Its mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

Each Veterans Day, hundreds of veterans, veteran supporters, gyms, and boxes across the nation participate in #WOD4Warriors, a functional fitness workout, to support Team RWB and those who have served our country. All proceeds support Team RWB’s mission to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by coming together in support of our veterans’ physical and mental health.

It is more than a sports program: Bronx Lacrosse is a full-day, year-round academic- & sports-based youth development program that empowers youth on the field and in the classroom. They use lacrosse as a vehicle to build community, improve academic engagement and performance, and develop leadership and social-emotional skills. Program participants are supported both on and off the field through mentorship, team building exercises, additional academic support and tutoring, and behavioral monitoring and intervention.

No Bully

Having been bullied relentlessly as a teenager, No Bully Founder, Nicholas Carlisle, wanted to ensure that other children did not have to endure the same abuse that he experienced in his formative years. So in 2003, Carlisle established No Bully, which began as a collaborative team of educators, psychologists, and lawyers committed to building a kinder and more compassionate world as a means of ending the crisis of bullying in schools and online. Over the last decade, they have become the nation’s preeminent anti-bullying organization. Since its founding, No Bully has had a 90% success rate, eliminating incidents of bullying while serving hundreds of schools and over 250,000 students.
