2022 Players Top 50: #50 Mike Manley

By Sarah Griffin | Dec 5, 2022

“He plays hard. People are scared of him, and that’s why we love him on our defense,” remarked Chrome’s short stick d-middie Ryan Terefenko on veteran defenseman Mike Manley.

It may be Manley’s first time in the Players Top 50, but his body of work throughout his 11 seasons of professional lacrosse speaks for itself. A two-time MLL Defender of the Year, he recorded a career-high in caused turnovers in 2022 with 13. He also scooped up 20 groundballs, his best since 2016 with the Rochester Rattlers.

A physical defender who gives 100% effort in everything he does, as a leader for the defense he embodies the grittiness and toughness that the Chrome men are all about.

“He’s a guy no one wants to get physical with because as an attackman, that’s probably not a battle you’re going to win,” said Terefenko.
