Chris Kavanagh has been voted as the Champion Player of the Week following his seven-point, three-goal, four-assist, five-ground ball performance last Saturday. Kavanagh helped lead the California Redwoods to a crucial 14-13 victory against the Maryland Whipsnakes.

Champion Player of the Week: Chris Kavanagh
Kavanagh was clutch on Saturday, assisting Dylan Molloy for a goal early in the fourth quarter before scoring a goal to tie the game at 13-13 with 2:50 left in the game. That came a week after he scored the game-winner against the Utah Archers in Salt Lake City.
Kavanagh continues to be California’s most productive offensive player as he facilitated the offense creating opportunities for himself and his teammates against the Whips.
The Notre Dame product now has registered 31 points (7th in PLL), 19 goals (5th) and 10 assists (8th) in his first season. All those marks are also first among rookies as Kavanagh continues his rookie of the year campaign. The Kavanagh, Molloy, Ryder Garnsey combination has led the California offense to bounce back from being the seventh best offense in the league in 2024 to the third best in 2025.
With two wins in the last two weeks, the California Redwoods now control their own destiny to clinch a playoff berth. If they beat the Boston Cannons on Friday night, the Woods and Kavanagh will punch the last Western Conference ticket to the postseason.
