Following his eight-point performance against the Philadelphia Waterdogs on Saturday, Jeff Teat has been voted the Champion Player of the Week. Teat canned five goals and dished out three assists in a performance that was reminiscent of his 2024 MVP season. He helped lead the New York Atlas to a 17-9 victory over Philly to get New York back to .500 (2-2) on the season.

Saturday’s performance was a bounce back game for Teat and the Atlas after they lost to the Maryland Whipsnakes 16-12 the week prior despite holding a 12-8 lead with 8:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Coming off his eight-point outing against Philly, Teat is now third in the league in points per game, averaging 4.0 per contest. He pulled out all the stops against the Waterdogs, consistently scoring off picks and manufacturing highlight plays ranging from ringing the ball off the pipes and into the net to a backhand roller that snuck past Matt DeLuca.

“When the ball gets to Teat, good things happen to us,” head coach Mike Pressler said after the win. “Our middies did a really good job picking for Jeff today. Jeff got his hands free a bunch.”

Teat and the Atlas will now turn their attention to the Utah Archers ahead of their matchup on Friday night at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The 2024 MVP will take on the 2023 MVP in Tom Schreiber in a battle between two of the absolute best offensive players in the game.
