The fans have voted Liam Entenmann as the Champion Player of the Week following his 18-save performance in the semifinals against the Philadelphia Waterdogs. Entenmann helped lead the New York Atlas to a 13-11 victory that sends them to the team’s first U.S. Bank Championship.

Entenmann’s 18 saves are tied for the third most in a PLL playoff game. The second year keeper stopped 69.2% of the shots he saw, including a pair of looks from the Waterdogs in the final minute of the game to maintain New York’s lead.

Philadelphia scored just eight goals against Entenmann. Three were 2-pointers, while the Waterdogs’ superstar attack trio registered just four combined goals after notching 14 in the quarterfinals. Entenmann robbed the ‘Dogs time and again as he carried the Atlas to the victory despite New York going scoreless for the last 10:00 of the game.

“Best goalie on the planet,” head coach Mike Pressler said after the win. “He came up big. That’s Liam Entenmann. That’s why we drafted him. He’s the best goalie in the league. We’re thrilled to have No. 44 between the pipes.”

Entenmann is a finalist for Goalie of the Year after he led the league in saves (152) and finished fourth in save percentage (57.1%) in the regular season.

Now, he’ll lead the Atlas into the U.S. Bank Championship where they’ll faceoff against the Denver Outlaws and his close friend and college teammate Pat Kavanagh. Entenmann made 18 saves (60%) back when New York and Denver played in the penultimate weekend of the regular season. A similar performance on Sept. 14 could launch the Atlas to its first title.
