LOS ANGELES, CA. (December 7th, 2022) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster has announced that ESPN Films’ documentary ‘Fate of a Sport’ will be available to stream on Hulu on December 9th.

“Hulu’s massive distribution will introduce our film, and the sport of lacrosse, into more homes across America,” said Co-Founder and President Paul Rabil. “The support from ESPN and Disney continues to demonstrate our collective commitment to growing the game and we’re thrilled to now be on Hulu in addition to ESPN+.”

The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June prior to debuting on ESPN+ on August 29th. Directed by Michael Doneger (“Brampton’s Own,” “The Escort”), the film chronicles the story of lacrosse legend Paul Rabil and his fight to change the trajectory of the sport he loves.

“We’re thrilled that ‘Fate of a Sport’ will be available on Hulu, allowing their vast subscriber base access to Paul and Mike’s inspirational story about two brothers defying the odds and building the next major professional sports league,” said Doneger. “What Paul and Mike have built from scratch is simply astounding, and we’re excited for an even larger audience to witness it for themselves. We’re grateful to ESPN and Disney for their continued belief in our film.”

The documentary features original interviews with Paul Rabil, Mike Rabil, Jeffrey Wright, Adam Silver, Bill Belichick, Peter Berg, Joe Tsai and Lyle Thompson.

‘Fate of a Sport’ is produced by Matt Tolmach (“The Armstrong Lie,” “Jumanji”) and Doneger. The film is executive produced by ESPN Films and UNINTERRUPTED’s LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Philip Byron with co-executive producer Camille Maratchi.

“As filmmakers, it’s a thrill to know that more people will have the chance to see our movie,” said Tolmach. “Lacrosse is a fast-growing sport, and hopefully we’re giving some context and history to a new generation of fans.”
