By PLL | May 4, 2025
Former Denver Outlaws, California Redwoods and Boston Cannons attackman Matt Kavanagh has announced his retirement from professional lacrosse.
Drafted fifth overall in the 2016 MLL Draft by the Denver Outlaws, Kavanagh led his teams to four championship appearances in his first four seasons.
The nine-year pro will go down as one of the greatest clutch performers in history, winning two MLL titles with the Denver Outlaws ('16, '18) and scoring the overtime game-winner of the 2024 Championship Series with the Boston Cannons.
Kavanagh ranks first all-time in playoff assists (24), second all-time in playoff points (54) and fourth all-time in playoff goals (30).
