The New York Atlas have re-signed midfielder Myles Jones through the 2025 season. Jones is coming off a notable 2025 Lexus Championship Series in which he scored 19 points (13G, 6A) in four games.
Jones was traded to New York midway through the 2023 season by the California Redwoods. After a bleak 2023 season with just six points, Jones filled a giant role in the New York offense as one of the league's top dodging threats.
Jones finished 2024 with 18 points (10G, 2T, 6A) and earned his fourth PLL All-Star appearance.
Atlas head coach Mike Pressler knew it was a must-have to bring back Jones for the upcoming season.
“We had to have him back,” Pressler said. “He’s such a monster of a midfielder, he creates incredible mismatches for us offensively and if you put him with a couple of other key guys, that’s a formidable trio (on midfield).”
New York’s offense led the league in scores per game last season (15.1).
Jones was the first overall pick in the 2016 MLL collegiate draft. Through his 10 professional seasons, he has amassed 234 points in 97 games played.
Despite Jones being a seasoned veteran and playing in a variety of different locker rooms, Pressler was floored by Jones' commitment to the Atlas.
“Myles’ buy-in to everything we’re about and everything we want to do has been extraordinary,” Pressler said. “Myles never makes it about him, he is a constant team player. At the end of the day for Myles, he just wants to win”
New York will now return its top five point-scorers from the 2024 season.
