NFL Veteran Chris Hogan Declares for the 2021 Premier Lacrosse League Entry Draft

By PLL | Feb 15, 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 15, 2021) – Veteran NFL wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl champion Chris Hogan has signed with the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL).

“My roots are in lacrosse,” said Hogan. “I’m excited to fight for a roster spot with the best in the world and hope to support the growth of a game that means a lot to me”

Prior to his NFL career, Hogan played four years of college lacrosse at Penn State University. The 2009 first-team All-ECAC midfielder scored 57 goals and completed 14 assists during his time in Happy Valley.

After graduating, Hogan used his final year of eligibility to play football at Monmouth University. He caught three touchdowns and led the Hawks with three interceptions as he split time between wide receiver and defensive back.

In 2012, Hogan earned a spot on the Buffalo Bills roster as an undrafted free agent. During his 10-year career, Hogan caught 250 receptions for 3,337 yards and 22 touchdowns. He played a pivotal role for the New England Patriots in the postseason, appearing in three Super Bowls and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy twice.

“Everyone knows Chris Hogan is a great athlete. What I am looking forward to seeing is how he matches up with the best in lacrosse,” said PLL’s Head of Player Experience Brian Silcott. “He was a really strong player for Penn State and is the type of athlete who thrives in the pro game, but it has been a minute since he last played, so I'm sure he is working hard on his stick skills to get ready for training camp in May.”

Hogan will be eligible for the 2021 Entry Draft on March 25th. The Entry Draft pool is open to new PLL players, including players from Major League Lacrosse – closing the loop on this offseason’s merge between the PLL and MLL.
