With two weeks remaining, every team still has a chance at making the postseason. Two teams have clinched: The Denver Outlaws and New York Atlas punched their tickets to both the playoffs and the 2026 Lexus Championship Series last week.
Two more teams have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the playoffs this weekend in Denver. Here are the scenarios to watch for.
Carolina Chaos: Win-and-in
Chaos faces off against the Outlaws on Friday, August 1st at 8 p.m. ET. With a win, first-year head coach Roy Colsey’s club would become the second team in the Western Conference to secure a playoff berth.
Although they cannot secure a spot in the 2026 Lexus Championship Series yet, a win would boost Chaos’ chances of making it to 68.3%, while a loss drops them to 16.0%. Chaos has never competed in February’s sixes tournament.
Philadelphia Waterdogs: Win-and-in
The Waterdogs and Boston Cannons renew their rivalry on Friday, August 1st at 10:30 p.m. ET.
If Philadelphia wins, they’d secure their spot in the playoffs for the first time under head coach and general manager Bill Tierney, who has turned the team around in 2025.
The Waterdogs would all but clinch a berth in the 2026 Lexus Championship Series with a win, increasing their chances to make the tournament to 93.2%.
Denver Outlaws: Eyes on the No. 1 seed in the West
The Denver Outlaws have two games this weekend: against Chaos at 8 p.m. ET on Friday night and against Atlas at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
A win in either game would lock up the No. 1 seed in the West, and a trip to the semifinals in Philadelphia on September 1st.
New York Atlas: Eyes on the No. 1 seed in the East
Atlas can clinch the No. 1 seed in the East — and a trip to the semifinals in Philadelphia on September 1st — with a win over the Outlaws.
Atlas and Outlaws clash at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday on ABC in what could be a Championship preview. With the updated playoff structure, the winner of the West will faceoff against the winner of the East in the PLL Championship on September 14th. These two teams are currently atop the standings, and could both clinch their conference’s No. 1 seed this weekend.
Other scenarios
No other teams have an opportunity to clinch this weekend, although every win — and every score for or against — is impactful.
At least two playoff spots will be available in Week 11 in Boston, along with the final two spots in the 2026 Lexus Championship Series.
