Premier Lacrosse League Announces 2023 All-Stars

LOS ANGELES - July 13, 2023 - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster today announced its 2023 All-Stars set to compete during the league’s All-Star Weekend in Louisville July 22 at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium at the University of Louisville.

The PLL’s 2023 All-Star Game will take on a new format, with PLL Veterans facing off against Rising Stars in the league. The weekend will kick off with the All-Star Skills Challenge at 6pm ET on ESPN+, followed by the All-Star Game at 7:30pm ET on ESPN and ESPN+.

“The world’s best lacrosse players are headed to Louisville in a new competitive format that will answer an age-old question by game’s end,” said Paul Rabil, co-founder and president of the PLL. “Our fans and players selected a group of highlight-making, on-field grinding, top-of-the score chart leaders that will put on a show in Louisville. It’s the PLL’s first time in the Bluegrass State and we look forward to watching the battle between our league’s Veterans and Rising Stars on ESPN.”

The Veterans’ roster is made up of players with four or more professional seasons, with the Rising Stars representing those with fewer than four professional seasons. All-Stars were selected by fan voting through the first four weeks of the 2023 PLL season.

The Rising Stars will be coached by Andy Copelan, head coach and general manager of the 2022 PLL champion Waterdogs LC, and Redwoods LC head coach and general manager Nat St. Laurent. The PLL Veterans will be coached by Andy Towers, head coach and general manager of the 2021 PLL champions, Chaos LC, and Chrome LC head coach and general manager, Tim Soudan. 

The All-Star Skills Challenge will feature four challenges including:

  • Freestyle Competition: players have 30 seconds to score in the most creative way possible while being able to use props
  • Accuracy Challenge: shooters have 20 seconds to hit 5 targets and demonstrate accuracy, precision, and efficiency 
  • Goalie Skills Challenge: goalies will have 45 seconds to compete in both saving and clearing through saves counting as one point and clears of varying difficulty providing score multipliers
  • Fastest Shot Competition: players will have two attempts to hit the highest velocity shot 

Players participating in the All-Star Skills Challenge  will be announced next week.
