Premier Lacrosse League Launches Pro-Lacrosse Alumni Network

By PLL | Feb 9, 2023

LOS ANGELES – Feb. 9, 2023 – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster, today announced the launch of the PLL Player Alumni Network, a new initiative by the men’s professional lacrosse league to provide support, mentorship, and community for former professional lacrosse players following their playing careers.

“We’re continuously working to improve our player experience,” said Paul Rabil, co-founder and President of the PLL. “With the Player Alumni Network, we will be engaging our PLL and former MLL players to improve their career roadmap – a great next step following last year’s inaugural Professional Lacrosse Hall of Fame.”

The Player Alumni Network will bring together professional lacrosse players spanning decades and prior leagues, with an estimated 500 PLL and MLL alumni invited to join. Members of the PLL Alumni Network will also have access to exclusive ticket perks, merchandise discounts, and a private LinkedIn page for career development and networking.

“The Player Alumni Network represents a unique opportunity to continue connecting the best players this sport has ever seen together to support each other in their post-playing careers,” said Rachael DeCecco, director of lacrosse product at the PLL. “By bringing together PLL and MLL alumni, we hope to build a place for all former players to reconnect, build off-field connections, and stay connected to the sport through alumni events at PLL games throughout the season.

“As a recent alumnus of the PLL, I’m looking forward to connecting with former pros spanning the great history of our sport, and supporting the next wave of alumni as they make the difficult decision to retire from pro-lacrosse,” said Kyle Harrison, player relations lead at the PLL and former captain of Redwoods Lacrosse Club. “The transition from on-field to off-field participation in any professional sport is a challenging one. I hope that through the Player Alumni Network, we can support each other and the league in its player-led approach and continue to trailblaze the future of professional sports.”

The PLL Player Alumni Network will host its inaugural Alumni Weekend at the PLL’s semifinals weekend at Hofstra University, Sept. 8-10, 2023. Former professional lacrosse players interested in joining the PLL Alumni Network should visit https://premierlacrosseleague.com/player-alumni-network.
