LOS ANGELES – Jan. 4, 2024 – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster today announced it will return to Japan to host men’s and women’s professional lacrosse exhibitions in partnership with SEKAI CROSSE on March 20, 2024 at Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan, in addition to youth lacrosse clinics and professional skills challenges.

“We’re thrilled to return to Japan for a third time in tandem with world-class lacrosse professionals to promote the game’s growth with our partners and friends at SEKAI CROSSE,” said Paul Rabil, Co-Founder and CEO of the Premier Lacrosse League. “With newfound Olympic momentum and a renewed commitment in sharing the game globally, these PLL men’s and women’s players will host local clinics, participate in a guest visit at an elementary school, and compete in a showcase against the Cross Crosse All-Stars.”

PLL All-Stars will make up a roster of 18 North American pros, with 18 professional women’s players representing team Unleashed. Launched by the PLL in 2020, Unleashed is a media and event platform designed to support the growth and visibility of girls and women in the sport of lacrosse. The PLL and Unleashed teams will face teams of specially selected Japanese lacrosse players representing Cross Crosse All-Stars.

“We are thrilled to welcome the PLL back to Japan this year to showcase world-class lacrosse to kids and athletes with dreams of playing this game around the world,” said Sachiyo Yamada, Executive Committee Chair of SEKAI CROSSE. “Our partnership will continue to be a driving force for the growth of lacrosse as a global game, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.”

The international exhibition comes following the successful bid to return lacrosse to Olympic competition for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles lacrosse. The Premier Lacrosse League will also hold its 2024 Championship Series powered by Ticketmaster February 14-19, 2024, in Springfield, Va. showcasing the Olympic-style format, with games broadcast across ESPN platforms.
