Premier Lacrosse League to host Women’s Professional Lacrosse Exhibition: Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster

LOS ANGELES – Jan. 8, 2024 – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) today announced it will hold a women’s professional lacrosse exhibition, the Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster, on February 17, 2024 at The St. James in Springfield, Va. during the PLL’s 2024 Championship Series. Played in the Olympic Sixes format, world renowned women’s lacrosse professionals from across North America will compete in a North vs. South exhibition. 

"We’re thrilled that professional women’s lacrosse players will join our PLL Championship Series with a showcase of their own – the Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster,” said Paul Rabil, Co-Founder and President of the PLL. “From our first women's professional exhibition in Japan in 2019, to our 2023 Japan games, we proudly continue to facilitate competitions that provide additional playing and compensation opportunities for the best women's lacrosse players in the world. With the All-Star Game airing on ESPN+ and an expected sellout crowd, we’re ready to witness a game that will be remembered."

The athletes competing will represent Unleashed, the women’s lacrosse training and content arm of the PLL that aims to support the growth and visibility of girls and women in the sport of lacrosse. In addition to holding premier women’s lacrosse training events across the country, the PLL annually sponsors a team of Unleashed women’s lacrosse professionals for global exhibition games in Japan.

“Lacrosse fans are in for a treat when world-class players and stewards of the game like Dana Dobbie, Charlotte North, and Lizzie Colson take the field at our Championship Series next month,” said Rachael DeCecco, Vice President of Lacrosse at the PLL. “We’re proud to showcase the dynamic action in both styles of Olympic Sixes play, and highlight the incredible skill and athleticism of the world’s best women’s lacrosse players, alongside our PLL pros.”

The Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster will be held Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1:00pm ET at The St. James in Springfield, Va. and airing on ESPN+, ahead of final games of round-robin play in the PLL Championship Series when the Utah Archers face the California Redwoods, and the Philadelphia Waterdogs face the Boston Cannons. The PLL Championship Series is an Olympic-style, six-on-six, round-robin tournament featuring the top four teams from the 2023 PLL regular season. 

Following the All-Star Game, Unleashed will host a clinic for youth players in grades 6-12 featuring instruction from participating All-Stars at South County High School from 3:30-5:00 pm ET. For more information, visit https://premierlacrosseleague.com/academy/girls
