By PLL | Oct 11, 2023

LOS ANGELES — The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) presented by Ticketmaster today released the following statement from co-founder and president Paul Rabil, regarding LA28’s decision to recommend the inclusion of lacrosse in the 2028 summer games.

“This is a monumental moment for lacrosse. We’re both honored and thrilled that LA28 has recommended lacrosse for the Summer Olympic Games. This was a collective effort by leaders and stewards of our sport. A special thank you to Casey Wasserman and the LA28 organizers. To Jim Scherr, Sue Redfern and the entire World Lacrosse organization; to Joe Tsai and Jane Lee for their participation and support, as well as every international governing body who has invested in the growth of the game in more than 90 countries today.

“Lacrosse competed for a gold medal at the 1904 and 1908 Summer Olympics, then as a demonstration sport in 1928, 1932 and 1948. Getting the game back into the Olympics will be transformative for players and fans around the world. We look forward to hearing the IOC’s final decision soon.”
