(June 12, 2019) – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today an agreement with Sportsnet, Canada’s #1 sports media brand, to become the exclusive distribution partner for league games in Canada for the 2019 PLL season. As part of the agreement, Sportsnet will air 16 PLL games in Canada for the remainder of the league season that are being produced and broadcast through either NBC and NBCSN in the United States. PLL action will air in Canadian markets through a combination of Sportsnet channels that include: Sportsnet, Sportsnet 360, and Sportsnet ONE. PLL games will also be available to watch online in Canada on Sportsnet NOW+ – the network’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform. “Sportsnet is the premier distribution platform for sports leagues north of the border and we are more than thrilled to showcase PLL action to our amazing Canadian fans,” says PLL Co-Founder and CEO Mike Rabil. “This partnership will now enable our innovative product to regularly reach millions of Canadian fans who have been yearning for years to watch professional outdoor lacrosse.” The PLL season officially got underway on June 1st at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA and most recently finished its second week of regular season action this past weekend at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ. Next weekend will see the PLL head to Chicago for three games, June 15-16, at SeatGeek Stadium.
