The Premier Lacrosse League launches the Premier Pass

By PLL | Jul 6, 2022

LOS ANGELES, CA. (July 6th, 2022) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster has released the Premier Pass, a free-to-claim NFT which grants fans access to vote on rule changes for the 2022 All-Star Game presented by Outsystems and impact future league decisions.

“The All-Star Game has always been a forum for experimenting with new rules,” said Co-Founder and President Paul Rabil. “Every new rule we’ve incorporated – from the 15-yard two-point arc to the 52-second shot clock to the unique tweaks at the faceoff stripe – has been driven by data and player feedback. We welcome the opportunity to add fan feedback more formally to that process.”

The Premier Pass is claimable from July 6th to 12th.

“We’ve been very intentional in our approach to NFTs and Web3, with efforts and philosophy driven by our talented Product Team” said Co-Founder and CEO Michael Rabil. “We felt that a free NFT providing real utility to fans reflected the best parts of web3 and demonstrated the right kind of investment at this stage”

Fans will be able to vote for or against the following rule changes for the 2022 All-Star Game presented by Outsystems:

Bonus Ball: Suggested by Pardon My Take, the last two minutes of each quarter would turn into Bonus Ball time. Each goal will be worth double, meaning that a 2-point goal will be worth four points.

Elam Ending: With the Elam Ending, the clock gets turned off in the fourth quarter. After the third quarter, a “target score” is set by adding five goals to the leading team’s point total. Each team plays to reach that target score. For example, if after three quarters Team Baptiste has 12 points and Team Farrell has 10 points, the target score becomes 17 (12 + 5). The first team to 17 wins – guaranteeing a walk-off, game-winning goal.

Shortened 2-point arc: The 2-point arc will be moved in from 15 yards to 13 yards.

Field Dimensions: The field will be shortened 5 yards in the middle of the field, meaning that the space between the faceoff stripe and the goal is 2.5 yards shorter on each side.

Alternate Possessions: At the start of the third quarter, there will be one faceoff. For the rest of the third quarter, the rules will change to alternate possession. This means that after a goal is scored, the goalie of the team that was scored on handles the ball and starts play again.

Final rule changes will be announced ahead of the 2022 All-Star Game presented by Outsystems at Gillette Stadium on July 16th. For more information on the game, visit www.premierlacrosseleague.com/schedule.
