On Dec. 17, Gavin Adler signed a three-year contract through 2028 with the Philadelphia Waterdogs.
The 2025 Defensive Player of the Year marks the first major acquisition for newly-hired Waterdogs general manager Dave Cottle. His move to Philly means that he’ll play for legendary head coach and defensive mind Bill Tierney. While reinforcing the Waterdogs’ defense, he’ll also compete alongside some of the best players in the world including Michael Sowers and CJ Kirst.
The Cornell-product will make his debut in purple in 2026. But what number will he be sporting when he does? He wore No. 77 for the Atlas and in college for the Big Red. He was No. 22 when he played for Hewlett High School.
