Our Team

We're here to bring championships to Philly. A team that plays gritty, unselfish, relentless lacrosse - there's a reason we've made championship appearances in the last two seasons. From hoisting the trophy in 2022 to missing by a goal in 2023, this team will be back with a vengeance. They call us the Waterdogs, but we play best in the mud.

Underdog Beginnings

Entering the 2020 season, Waterdogs Lacrosse Club joined the PLL as its first-ever expansion team. Head coach and general manager Andy Copelan built a roster of unwanted underdogs, left off their old team’s protected rosters and foaming at the mouth for revenge.

2022 PLL Champions

In our third season, we finally got our paws on that beautiful Cash App Championship Trophy – right here in Philadelphia.

WAT_TRAIT_OWNERS

Best Owners in Sports

Every great sports team has great owners, and Barstool’s Big Cat and PFT Commenter are no exception. Our ownership group’s championship aspirations, hands-off approach, and unconditional love have guided a humble expansion club to a league powerhouse. Love you guys.

Your Stars

WAT_HEADSHOT_SOWERS

Michael Sowers

The fastest attackman from endline to goalline, Michael Sowers' shake leaves defenders in the dust. Sowers is fearless near the crease, soaring and scoring crease dive goals when we need them most.

WAT_HEADSHOT_MCARDLE

Kieran McArdle

Kieran McArdle ranks 9th all-time in career points (449). The veteran lefty's toughness sets the tone for us on offense.

WAT_HEADSHOT_KELLY

Connor Kelly

One of the best 2-point shooters in lacrosse, Connor Kelly's range stretches defenses. Kelly is a 3-time All-Star, 2-time PLL Champion, and a 2022 2nd Team All-Pro.
