Premier Lacrosse League and Women’s Professional Lacrosse League Announce Doubleheader in Baltimore

LOS ANGELES (Mar. 8, 2019) – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) announced today that they will co-host games together at Homewood Field on June 22nd and 23rd.

“We are thrilled to join forces at Homewood Field in the hotbed of lacrosse,” explained Michele Dejuliis, CEO of the WPLL. “Bringing the best talent from the men’s and women’s game is going to be a thrill for lacrosse fans all over.”

Two months ago, the PLL and WPLL announced their groundbreaking strategic alliance as part of an effort to unify the sport and create gender unification at the pro level. With a combined 160 All-Americans and 16 Tewaaraton winners, the two preeminent professional lacrosse leagues will join together for an unparalleled event in which fans will be able to watch their favorite pros from both leagues.

“We're co-hosting Week 4 with the WPLL in one of the sport's major hotbeds, creating an opportunity for fans to see their favorite players and teams over one weekend.” added Paul Rabil, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of the Premier Lacrosse League. “I’m excited to play again at Homewood Field, one of the most iconic venues in our sport, and a stadium I've witnessed some of the greatest teams of all-time compete at."

While in town for the weekend, the PLL will work with Charm City Youth Lacrosse, a lacrosse-based youth development non-profit that helps underserved kids in Baltimore. The organization is run by Kyle Harrison, PLL midfielder and Director of Player Relations. The PLL will also partner with Shootout for Soldiers, a 24-hour lacrosse event benefiting wounded American Veterans, that will hold its annual event on June 17th and 18th.

The WPLL will continue its area impact following the games by hosting the WPLL Futures Tryout in conjunction with US Lacrosse. Registration will be open on March 9th for the Maryland region.
