Chaos LC vs. Chrome LC Week 5 Recap

Chrome and Chaos was yet another matchup that went down to the wire with this OT thriller surprising the Atlanta fans. Chaos came out in the first quarter red hot and scored four straight goals. The onslaught continued throughout the quarter as they built up a formidable 7-1 lead by performances from Jake Froccaro and Miles Thompson. The early signs looked like this game was going to get out of hand fast, but the Chrome weren’t ready to give up just yet.

The Chrome started out the second quarter with two straight goals and brought the energy back to Dom Starsia’s team. After letting up another Chaos goal midway through the second, the Chrome would go on to score three-straight goals to end out the half.

The Chaos started out the third quarter on the right foot with a goal from Josh Byrne, to extend their lead 9-6. Goals were exchanged throughout the quarter in a game that could have easily swung both ways. However, a notable last minute goal from Justin Guterding would shift the momentum in the Chrome’s favor, heading into the fourth quarter.

The Chrome started out the fourth with three straight goals, to tighten this one to 12-11, coming within striking distance of Chaos. Despite Chrome being desperate for their first win of the season, the Chaos reasserted their dominance through a 2-point bomb from Jarrod Neumann.  Chrome continued to make an unbelievable comeback, scoring three straight goals, tying this one up 14-14 on the day.

In yet another overtime PLL matchup, former Duke star and current Chaos standout Deemer Class was the hero with a goal early into sudden death. The Chaos grinded out another win, while the Chrome must feel extremely unlucky with a close loss, yet again.

Next week in D.C. will be a rematch between these two times, with a game that is sure to be chippy.
