LOS ANGELES, CA. (April 27, 2022) - Goals for Greatness has announced its inaugural event in Los Angeles in partnership with Harlem Lacrosse. Founded by Premier Lacrosse League Co-Founder and President, Paul Rabil, Goals for Greatness is committed to resourcing lacrosse goals in all 50 states each year. 

“My hope is that through this initiative, more kids and adults will have unlimited access to the game,” said Rabil. “As we continue to build Goals for Greatness, I can envision a future where lacrosse goals are stationed at every park, rec and local school field nationwide, making lacrosse more accessible, recognizable and aspirational.”

Goals for Greatness’s mission is to inspire and connect athletes around the world through the game of lacrosse. The inaugural ceremony will include a free clinic, hosted by Paul Rabil, for players in the Harlem Lacrosse program, as well as anyone interested in attending in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan region. 

“It is inspiring that lacrosse’s most influential leader has launched an initiative like Goals for Greatness and we are honored to help kick off the program,” said Harlem Lacrosse CEO, Mike Levin. “We share Paul’s vision for a game that is more accessible and inclusive and are grateful for his leadership in driving towards that vision.”

“We are so excited and grateful to be the first recipients of Goals for Greatness,” said Alicia Garcia, Senior Program Director at Harlem Lacrosse. “Accessibility and visibility often combine to be our biggest challenges in Southern California. With the addition of these goals to our programs, we can create more opportunities for our students to achieve greatness and continue to make lacrosse a staple in the Compton community. We hope that when people walk down the street and see these goals, we can proudly respond with, ‘Yes, lacrosse is played here.’”

As part of the initial announcement, Rabil shared his vision for Goals for Greatness, with the intention of pursuing goal distributions internationally in 2023 and beyond. Lacrosse is officially recognized in 70 countries under World Lacrosse governance, with an ongoing pursuit of inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
