New York Atlas extend Jeff Teat through 2027

The New York Atlas have extended Jim Brown MVP Jeff Teat through the 2027 season.
During the 2024 season, Teat smashed the league’s single-season scoring record with 64 points. The first overall pick out of Cornell was the Rookie of the Year in 2021 and has been named to an All-Star team in all four of his professional seasons.
Teat was previously under contract through the 2025 season. Head coach and general manager Mike Pressler prioritized reaching an agreement now to keep New York’s nucleus intact long-term.
New York now has its three captains — Teat, Danny Logan and Trevor Baptise — locked up through 2027.
“That was a must,” Pressler said. “Jeff will be one of our tri-captains this summer along with Trevor and Danny. To lock up the big three for three-year extensions was at the top of our list as we restructure the roster moving forward.”
Even before being named a captain this offseason, Teat was one of New York’s locker room leaders.
“Without the ‘C’ on his shirt the previous two years, he still was the leader,” Pressler said. “When he speaks, people pay attention, and he doesn’t speak often. He’s a man by nature of few words, and he leads by example. When he does chime up in the huddle or in the locker room, you listen.”
With the league’s top player locked in for New York for the foreseeable future, Pressler can now shift his focus toward building a winning culture on and off the field.
“To win on game day, you need to win the locker room,” Pressler said. “We have a great locker room going right now, and Jeff Teat is a huge part of that.”
