Rio Tinto Stadium to host PLL action this August

LOS ANGELES, CA. (March 11, 2020) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has announced that the league will travel to Salt Lake City, UT for week 11 of the upcoming 2020 season. As part of the mouthwatering slate of 2020 games, Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT will host three total games of PLL action on August 21 and 22.

“As we looked at expanding to new strategic markets for the new season, Salt Lake City was an area that jumped out to us right away,” says PLL Co-Founder and CEO Mike Rabil. “PLL keeps a strong presence in Utah that is anchored by Archers LC stars and University of Utah coaches, Marcus Holman, Will Manny and Adam Ghitelman. We’ve seen firsthand both the vocal support and growing infrastructure that the professional game needs in Utah to succeed well into the future. Additionally, the fabulous team at Rio Tinto Stadium has been with us every step of the way as we plan for this summer’s game weekend. We’re ready to go.”

Lacrosse is gaining a lot of popularity in Utah, and the PLL weekend will be another memorable moment in the history of lacrosse in the ‘State of Sport’.”

Rio Tinto Stadium is the 11th location to be announced for the PLL’s 2020 season. This league weekend will follow stops at Providence Park (Portland, OR), WakeMed Soccer Park (Raleigh, NC), and Tom & Mary Casey Stadium (Albany, NY), after the league’s second and final bye week. The 2020 season is scheduled to begin on May 29 and will be distributed via an exclusive media rights deal with NBC Sports. Games will be shown throughout the summer on a combination of NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold, the network’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform.
