2022 Players Top 50: #31 Brendan Nichtern
The ninth overall pick out of Army played like a veteran from his first time touching a PLL field.
Brendan Nichtern quarterbacked the Chrome LC offense following Jordan Wolf’s retirement. Teammates buried 46% of feeds from Nichtern – one of the highest marks in the league among high-volume passers. Flanked by fellow rookie Logan Wisnauskas on his left and childhood idol Dylan Molloy on his right, Nichtern led Chrome to the two-seed in the 2022 Cash App Playoffs.
As a team, Chrome shot 33.8% when initiating with a two-man game (2nd in PLL). Nichtern quickly developed chemistry with Jordan MacIntosh – who had been running the most dangerous pick-and-roll in lacrosse with Wolf since Nichtern was in middle school.
Nichtern’s physical dodging style translated to the pro game, where every sliver of shooting angle is valued. He dodged with determination and without fear at the league’s biggest bullies like Graeme Hossack and Matt Dunn.
