By PLL | Jul 22, 2022

LOS ANGELES, CA. (July 22, 2022) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster has tracked significant growth across ticketing, broadcast, social, and digital platforms through the All-Star break.

“The 2022 All-Star Game presented by OutSystems at Gillette Stadium was the highest attended All-Star Game in PLL history,” said Co-Founder and CEO Michael Rabil. “We experimented with rule changes voted on by fans, implemented new broadcast integrations, and saw Jarrod Neumann break his own fastest shot record, hitting 118mph in the Skills Challenge presented by vineyard vines.”

Attendance for the 2022 All-Star Game presented by OutSystems showed a 38% increase over the previous highest-attended All-Star Game. Team Baptiste defeated Team Farrell, 33-13, in a game featuring two new rule changes voted on by Premier Pass holders: A 13-yard 2-point arc and the Pardon My Take moneyball. The PLL will return to Gillette Stadium on September 3rd for three quarterfinals matchups.

“Entering the second half of the 2022 season, all three races – for the first-round bye, for the seven postseason seeds, and for the four invites to the 2023 Championship Series – are wide open,” said Co-Founder and President Paul Rabil. “Every lacrosse club controls its own destiny as we head to Fairfield for four pivotal week 7 matchups. A Must watch.”

On Thursday, the PLL announced the completion of a Series D round of funding. The financing was led by return investor The Chernin Group (TCG), with continued participation from Blue Pool Capital and Brett Jefferson Holdings. New investors include World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and 35V, led by two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant and entrepreneur Rich Kleiman, Wheelhouse Entertainment and Pomp Investments.

Uses of the Series D financing include the following areas of focus: increased player incentives, upgraded travel experiences, off-season programming, hiring key talent across commercial business efforts, expansion of PLL media, marketing and scripted/unscripted productions, PLL game weekend enhancement, and a robust data science and technology team.
