ALEX AUST IS A TRIPLE THREAT: PROFESSIONAL LACROSSE PLAYER | ENTREPRENEUR | FITNESS MODEL

BOYDS, M.D. – When the lockdown began in March 2020, Alex Aust, gold medalist with Team USA and former member of the University of Maryland women’s lacrosse team, kickstarted her journey in creating her personal brand within women’s lacrosse. In the past year and a half, Aust’s resume has expanded from professional lacrosse player and club director, to creator of “The SweAAt Life,” a virtual health and fitness community, and most recently, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model. Aust is truly changing the game with her social media platform and opening doors for future female-athletes looking to establish a name for themselves.

Aust is known for her high-energy personality and empowering mantras, which aligned perfectly with the creation of her fitness community, “The SweAAt Life.” Her entrepreneurial journey began in May 2020, with posting free 45-minute virtual exercise classes on her Instagram live, and soon transformed into a membership-based fitness community of over 400 women. Her fitness journey was originally meant to help motivate individuals to stay active throughout quarantine and evolved into an established community where women can support, inspire, and empower one another.

By channeling the confidence she gained from launching her successful fitness community, Aust decided to pursue a personal dream of her own, becoming a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model. On August 30th, 2020, Aust took to Instagram and posted her official 2021 Sports Illustrated Swim Search submission, which she admitted was even a secret from her own family. In her video submission she explained her main purpose for auditioning was to inspire the younger generation of female-athletes to look at their strong and able bodies as beautiful. Aust made it through countless rounds of casting, auditioning, and photoshoots, and on Thursday, July 22nd, her spread in Sports Illustrated magazine hit the newsstands and she officially became the first lacrosse player to be featured in the esteemed swimsuit catalog.

Following her year and a half of success as both an entrepreneur and model, Aust is back on the field playing for the new Athletes Unlimited professional women’s lacrosse league at the Maryland Sports Complex in Boyds, MD. With the creation of the new league, and her increased social media following, Aust is continuing to bring the sport of women’s lacrosse to new heights.
