Premier Lacrosse League Announces Attendance And Viewership Figures From Week 8 In San Jose

LOS ANGELES, CA. (August 14, 2019) -  The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today an attendance total of 11,317 for three total games this weekend (August 10 and 11) at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, CA. Additionally, Sunday night’s telecast on NBCSN averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 155,000 viewers and 0.1 household rating, surpassing the July 27 Chaos-Whipsnakes primetime game (129,000 viewers; 0.08 HH rtg) to make it the most-watched and highest-rated NBCSN PLL telecast in history (10 tc’s). Moreover, it’s the sixth consecutive week whereby the PLL has improved its audience growth from the previous week.

The action did not disappoint as all six PLL teams this weekend had everything to play for with the postseason rapidly approaching. Games this weekend got started with a 1PM PT face off between Chaos LC and Redwoods LC. Through a balanced attack led by midfielders Myles Jones and Jake Froccaro, Coach Andy Towers’ Chaos team became the first-ever PLL team to clinch a playoff berth as they came out with the 13-10 victory. In the afternoon game, Whipsnakes LC were denied that same clinching opportunity as they were upset by Chrome LC. Dominant performances from Chrome stars Connor Farrell, Ned Crotty and Justin Guterding contributed to the riveting 20-16 victory - the highest scoring game in PLL history. Sunday’s matchup saw Archers LC defeat Atlas LC 15-11 in a hotly contested game. Dominant performances from attackmen Marcus Holman and Joey Sankey, as well as an amazing game from midfield leader Tom Schreiber could have the Archers’ heading toward a postseason berth.

The action this weekend continued to be the talk of social media as PLL channels generated 14.2 million impressions and over 950,000 views. Additionally, Connor Fields’ dazzling goal during Saturday’s Chaos win came in at #6 on SportsCenter’s nightly Top 10.

Next weekend, PLL will travel north of the border for an exciting weekend of lacrosse action at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario - the first time Canada has hosted professional outdoor lacrosse. The first of two Saturday games will see Chaos LC take on Archers LC on NBCSN at 12:30PM ET. The afternoon game will be a showdown between Chrome LC and Atlas LC at 3:30PM ET, available on NBC Sports Gold, NBC’s direct streaming service. The Sunday matchup will be a battle between Whipsnakes LC and Redwoods LC at 6PM ET, also on NBC Sports Gold. Saturday’s late afternoon game and the Sunday matchup are available to watch in Canada on Sportsnet World, SN360 and SN Now+.
