Position Overview/Summary
The Premier Lacrosse League seeks an experienced, passionate and highly motivated lacrosse event operator with a proven track record of delivering high quality camps, tournaments, or similar programming. This manager-level operator will be responsible for the full life cycle of events, from inception to execution. Event operations will be managed using workflow management software (Asana) and the ideal candidate will have experience in relevant software programs. Strong organizational, leadership, and prioritization skills are essential, along with extraordinary attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced multifaceted environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about operating events with precision, motivated by the challenges and variables associated with sports event operations, and is invigorated by achieving successful results with hard work, strong preparation, and a team-first mentality.Roles & Responsibilities
- As a leader on PLL Play’s Operations team, project manage key PLL Play events (camps, tournaments, clinics, Showcases, etc.) multiple genders and age groups, including youth and adult events.
- Scope, build and execute deliverable lifecycle of programs from inception to delivery to include event planning, scheduling, logistics, staffing, budgeting, merchandise, venue management/contracts, vendor management, sponsorship activation, hotel partners, stakeholder relationships, and post-event reconciliation
- Execute on program timelines and objectives by effectively leveraging project management platform and associated deliverables. Communicate project progress and status updates to stakeholders regularly.
- Travel to deliver events on-site by implementing operational, event management, and emergency action plans with precision
- Operate individually, as a team, and with partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with venues, stakeholders, service providers, vendors and customers, representing the PLL at the highest level
- Enhance the value of PLL Play programming through superior operational delivery
- Collect, analyze, and implement feedback and learnings to inform decisions and improvements. Identify and implement opportunities for system and process improvement.
- Highly responsive, professional, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Timely attention/prioritization of time/cost sensitive items (ex. venue deadlines, accounts payable, insurance, travel, lodging, logistics etc.) within PLLP guidelines, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- On-time, on budget accountability for event expenses
- Work effectively within the Ops team and cross functionally across the business unit to maximize the effectiveness of the business
- Manage the career and professional development of direct report(s) as relevant

Experience and Skillset:
- 4-5 years’ experience in a sports event operations role (preferably lacrosse)
- Knowledge of and experience utilizing project management methodologies, tools, and software to manage processes.
- Ability to understand and manage an event P&L with basic excel proficiency is a must.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational management and on-site issues and improve processes
- Ability to build rapport and trust with teammates/colleagues, venues, stakeholders, service providers, vendors, and other operators with positive, collaborative, consistent communication accountability, and commitment
- Experience both in the office and on event sites
- Highly accountable with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of the youth sports landscape with lacrosse specific knowledge a bonus
- Job-Specific Requirements
- You will be required to travel regularly to operate events on-site
- Travel includes shared hotel rooms (special accommodations made for medical consideration)
- Regular out-of-hours work during events
Compensation:
- $75,000 – $80,000 Base Salary
- Based on the candidate’s experience and seniority
- It is preferred that the candidate is based out of Denver, CO but remote will be considered for the right candidate
- In-office 2-3 days a week / Remote
