It is hard to believe that we are heading into the All Star break already. Last December I remember sitting in a conference room in New York City with the other newly appointed head coaches for the PLL.
The Premier Lacrosse League announced today an attendance total of 8,189 for the inaugural PLL All-Star Game that was held July 21st at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
Atlas and Redwoods kicked off Week 7 action as teams came together after a two-week break. More accurately, Atlas kicked off Week 7 action as the Redwoods were nowhere to be found to begin this contest.
Defense ruled the early stages of Saturday’s Redwoods and Archers matchup in the first quarter, with both teams raking up a total of three points. Archers’ Christian Cuccinello and Kevin Rice helped the team out with two in the first quarter. Redwoods’ standout Brent Adams scored the lone first quarter goal for the Redwoods and awakened the team from their slumber.
Looking back at the history of college lacrosse, no team has, in recent record, won a National Championship four years in a row (thank you Wikipedia). In other words, every player has dealt with a season ending defeat. For seniors, that has often meant a career ending loss.
The gradual escalation to the moment of playing in the first Premier Lacrosse League game always seemed right in front of us. The process has been engaging, collaborative: a feeling that as a player, there is a intrinsic dedication to the formation of our new league, and a new commitment to the players and the fans that we’ve only dreamt of.
I love to win. I don’t care what we are playing, I am trying to win. But even more so, I hate to lose. I hate losing more than I like winning. Other players will be bigger, faster and stronger than me, but no one will match my will to win and absolute dread of losing.

The Sunday game from the Nation’s Capital was an offensive explosion. Each member of Chrome and Chaos came out to play, and the goals were spread out amongst some of the PLL’s top stars. Although last weekend resulted in an OT Chaos win, the rematch today was stunningly different.
