Players Top 50: #34 Ben Randall
The Waterdogs drafted two defenders in the 2021 Entry Draft: Liam Byrnes, brought in for his off-ball play, and Ben Randall, brought in to bully dodgers.
The Waterdogs defense found consistency in Week 5 in Minnesota when they made Randall a full-time starter and bumped Byrnes down low. Prior to that point, opponents had shot 38.6% in six-on-six sets against them; from then on, opponents shot only 23.0% in settled situations.
Randall erased Lyle Thompson, Jackson Morrill, and Zed Williams in three consecutive matchups.
